Food Service Update

September 10, 2020

Last week an email was sent explaining our Meal Program , ordering procedure, and information about the USDA extended waivers allowing all student’s under the age of 18 to receive free breakfast and lunch including remote students.. Over the past week the Candia School District has been working with the State to provide this benefit to our students . These waivers started immediately and will continue through  December 31,2020 or UNTIL THE FUNDS RUN OUT whichever comes first. We are encouraging all parents to continue to fill out the Free and Reduced Application as they normally would at the beginning of the school Year. Families who normally wouldn’t qualify may now due to new guidelines during this pandemic. It is important that we have these applications already in place for a seamless transition to the National School Lunch Program once the funds run out. This will allow us to properly charge student’s accounts. Applications for Free and Reduced meals are used for so many other financial benefits for our students .

I would also like to thank you for your patience with our new ordering system. It definitely has been a learning curve for all. Please note September’s menu has been adjusted and reposted in order to efficiently serve our students. Our students will still be able to enjoy their favorites with this slight adjustment. You also notice there will be two google order forms. One is for meal ordering and one is if your child would only like to purchase a beverage. This was a suggestion from families and as always  I appreciate your input to help make this process as simple as possible. Please note that the USDA waiver only covers a “complete meal” and will not assist in the cost of extras ,snacks (when available) or a beverage only.

We will be adjusting our remote pick up time starting as of Monday 9/14/20. Pick up time will be between 11:30AM and 12PM. At that time you will receive the lunch you ordered as well as your pre ordered breakfast for the next morning(if you have ordered one). This will ensure that your child will have a hot meal to enjoy .

When the USDA informs our School District that the funds for the Universal Free Meals Program have run out or the date of coverage has expired we will inform you at once. This could be  fairly short notice which is why we strongly encourage you to fill out the application in the next week or so. The application can be found at the bottom of our previous email or on our School Website under the Nutrition Services Tab. Please print and send in with your student in a sealed envelope with Attn: Andrea Donovan , Food Services on the front. You can also mail to Henry W. Moore School, 12 Deerfield Rd. Candia NH, 03034  Attn: Andrea Donovan. If you are unable to print please contact the school at 483-2251 and we would be happy to send you a copy.

Thank you in advance for your patience during these unprecedented times. Our main goal is and will always be to continue to serve nutritious meals to students in a safe environment
