It is the policy of the Candia School Board to transport elementary school children along approved bus routes from their home and back along a similar route. Bus routes are determined by considering the location of student homes, ridership and safety. Student addresses are sent to the bus company in early August to assist with determining whether there is a need to alter existing bus routes. Preliminary bus routes are posted to the school website approximately one week before the start of school. As families settle into the routine of the new school year throughout the month of September, the number of students riding the bus becomes more consistent. Routes may change in October if there is enough of a fluctuation in the number of students choosing to ride the bus to or from school. The location of bus stops is also affected by traffic patterns, road conditions, speed limit and other safety factors. We strive to locate bus stops in areas that will minimize danger to students, buses and the public. For more information regarding bus routes please see Candia School District Policy EEAC.
