Last week the Moore School observed National Safe Schools Week. We were very lucky to be joined by some of our local heroes throughout the week, who met with our students to discuss different safety topics. Officer Serena Shuter from our own Candia Police Department read Officer Buckle and Gloria, by Peggy Rathman, and spoke to our students about how police keep us safe. Students asked some great questions and learned a lot about safety and our local police department.
We were also joined by our own Candia Volunteer Fire Department who visited our students during lunch. Our students got to meet three of our local firefighters while they ate! They had a lot of fun being served by our firefighters and hearing about fire safety.
Firefighter Nick Poulin from the Manchester Fire Department met with our youngest students to teach them about fire safety at school and at home. Students were able to see Firefighter Nick with all his equipment, which was also very exciting.
