We are off to a great start to our school year! I would like to take this opportunity to share some important dates and reminders with you:
This week, students in all grades will complete the Measures of Academic Progress benchmark assessment from Northwest Evaluation Association, or NWEA MAP, for mathematics and reading. NWEA MAP Growth is used to measure a student’s performance level at different times of the school year and determine their academic growth in mathematics and reading. Teachers can use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.
This Friday, September 17th, is school picture day.
The first Principal Night of the year will take place on Wednesday, September 22nd. These nights are an opportunity for parents and community members to ask questions, share concerns or ideas, or just say “hello”. I understand that it can be difficult for working families to have access to me during the school day; therefore, I will hold these extended office hours via Zoom every 6 weeks or so. There will not be any kind of formal presentation involved. I will just be available on Zoom for anyone who wishes to talk with me. If you would like the link for September 22nd, please email me at bwing@sau15.net.
Friday, October 1st is a professional development day for teachers; therefore, there is no school for students on this day.
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Becky Wing
Principal
