Message from the Principal

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather!  I continue to be impressed by your children and how nicely they have transitioned back to school with our new protocols.  I have a few reminders and some important dates to share with you today.

As I’m sure you are aware, there have been several schools across the state who have made the shift to remote learning for a day or more in response to COVID-19 cases in the school.  This is a good reminder for us to make sure that we are following all protocols by wearing appropriate face coverings, keeping our distance and practicing good hand hygiene.  I would like to remind you to make sure that as you are screening your child(ren) each morning, you ask them if they have any of the common symptoms before submitting your screening answers to Pick-Up Patrol.  Kids aren’t always going to let us know that they have a headache, runny nose or sore throat unless we ask.

Reminders:

  • Please make any changes to your child’s dismissal plan in Pick-Up Patrol each day.  We consider what is in pick-up patrol as your direction for where your child should go at the end of the day.
  • Students in grades 4-8 will participate in the NH State Assessment next week.  Students will take a shorter version of the typical spring assessment for the previous grade level.  Please reach out with any questions.
  • Please remember that drop off time for students in grades 5-8 is 7:45-7:55am and 8:45 – 8:55am for students in grades K-4.  After these times, please walk your child to the front entrance of the building and ring the bell to let Mrs. Beaulieau know the reason for the tardiness.
  • Students in grades K-4 may participate in LAMPS-O-Ween on Friday, October 30th.  Students can dress as their favorite book character, athlete, artist, musician, or person of Spanish heritage.  Students will need to be comfortable in their costume for the entire day both sitting in their seats and outside at recess.  Costumes may not include head wear as it may interfere with properly wearing their face covering.

Important Dates:

Wednesday, October 21: Moore School Virtual Open House 5:30-7:00pm

This is your opportunity to learn more about the curriculum and what your child’s day looks like at school.  Classroom teachers will be sending out a Zoom link with presentation times before next Wednesday.  Zoom links will also be available for unified arts teachers, the school nurse, school counselor, and reading specialist for you to drop in and hear more about their programs.

Tuesday, November 10: Parent/Teacher Conference Day – No School

Parent/Teacher conferences will be held via Zoom this year.  Grade level and unified arts teachers will be asking you to sign up for a conference time with them directly.  There is no school for students on this day.

Wednesday, November 11: Veteran’s Day – No School

As always, please reach out with any questions or feedback.
