Teachers have been hard at work creating lessons for the additional days that the school will now be closed. We are also gathering together textbooks and workbooks for students in all grades to have at home in the event that this closure lasts beyond three weeks. All of these materials can be picked up at the Moore School tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18 from 7:00am – 7:00pm. We will utilize the same process for distributing the materials as we did on Sunday afternoon. Please use the parent pick up area at the front of the building and stay in your car until a staff member brings the materials out to you.
If there are items in your child’s locker or cubby that you would like to pick up, you can do that tomorrow as well. In order to do our part in following the latest recommendations from the CDC, we will be limiting the number of people in the building at one time. After picking up materials at the front of the building, you will need to park in our staff parking lot behind the school near the Smyth Library. You will be greeted by a staff member at the rear bus door who will have directions regarding how to proceed. Items from lost and found will also be available at the back of the building on outside tables. Items that are left in cubbies, lockers or lost and found will be discarded as we will be doing a deep clean of all surfaces in the building before reopening.
I understand that having to return to the school to pick up more materials is an inconvenience. However, if this closure continues long term, we plan on making modifications to our teaching and learning that would require students to have these additional materials available.
