Principal Letter Regarding School Closure

Moore School Families,

Superintendent of Schools, William Rearick, has made the decision to close the Moore School beginning Monday, March 16th for a period of two weeks. In anticipation of this closing, teachers have created distance learning school work for students to complete. Students in Kindergarten through grade 3 will have learning bags with twelve days of learning activities.

Students in grades four through eight will access their learning activities online. The K-3 learning bags include reading, writing and math supplies along with directions in a jumbo ziploc bag. The teachers are also posting more specific directions with accompanying videos on our school website.

Chromebooks and chargers are available for students in grades 4-8 to take home for use during the school closure. The Moore School will be open for families to pick up learning bags, Chromebooks and chargers at the following times:

  • Sunday, March 15 3:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Monday, March 16 8:00am – 3:00pm

Online learning materials will be available on our school website beginning Monday morning, March 16, 2020. If you need assistance accessing these materials please reach out to our Moore School Helpdesk via candia.helpdesk@sau15.net. Teachers will also be available each Monday – Friday from 10:00am – 12:00pm and 4:00pm – 6:00pm via email for questions regarding learning activities. If your child is having any difficulty completing the assignments, please reach out to the appropriate teacher for guidance.

Andrea Donovan, Food Service Director, has been in contact with the Candia Food Pantry. If you need assistance providing food for your family during this time, please call the food pantry directly at 603-587-1166.

This is a learning opportunity for all of us. I am confident that we can work together as a community to successfully navigate this new experience. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this very trying time. Please contact me at 603-483-2251 or bwing@sau15.net with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Becky Wing
Principal
